It seems that the giant of software, Microsoft, is back to its track in post-Gates era!
After announcing the final version of SQL Server 2008 last week, now Microsoft announces the availability of final versions of .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1.
You can download the first service packs for .NET Framework 3.5 and Visual Studio 2008 from Microsoft downloads.
Two of the main updates in .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 is the final versions of ADO.NET Data Services and ADO.NET Entity Framework.
On the other hand, this service pack includes some improvements for easier client application development. One of the related features is the .NET Framework Client Profile.
But Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 comes with a better WPF designer, a rich entity designer and full compatibility with SQL Server 2008 that was released a few days ago.
I’m definitely looking forward for discovering new features and upgrade my projects. Hopefully I will update some personal projects to the new service pack of .NET Framework 3.5 in the next couple of weeks!
