Mohammad Azam is one the ASP.NET community members who has been actively contributing to some sites including ASP Alliance and his own sites. He had a few sites about ASP.NET where he was publishing his articles but a short while ago he started a new site called High on Coding and redirected all his other domains and URLs to this new one. Mohammad is trying to publish valuable stuff about the .NET on the site as articles, videos and podcasts.
As a part of the site, Mohammad records regular podcasts about technical topics, and last week he invited me to join him to be interviewed on ASP.NET MVC. Although I was a podcast-virgin before then, I thought it’s good to have this interview done, and we recorded the podcast yesterday.
In this show Mohammad and I talked about MVC pattern and ASP.NET MVC. We started with the concepts behind Model View Controller (MVC) pattern, and then talked about the way that it’s adapted by Microsoft in ASP.NET MVC. After this, we talked about the benefits of ASP.NET MVC in the area of unit testing an application, and also talked about the possible reason for faster ASP.NET MVC applications in comparison with ASP.NET web forms because there is no ViewState in ASP.NET MVC.
Continuing our discussion, we focused on Html Helpers and the ease of implementation of a user interface in ASP.NET MVC, and why it’s a little difficult in comparison with ASP.NET web forms and its server controls. The next topic of our discussion was a brief introduction to routing in ASP.NET MVC and its advantages.
Finally, we finished the interview with a short overview of our forthcoming Wrox Beginning ASP.NET MVC 1.0 book.
You can download the podcast from here. It’s a little shorter than half an hour. I hope that you like it even though it was my first time, and there are lots of things to learn. Honestly, it’s not easy to record a podcast because it’s difficult to correct something that you say or because it’s not possible to think much about what you are going to say!

Very interesting show. I am currently looking for more ASP.net video tutorials - some that cover more topics than www.asp.net - maybe Mohammed can interview someone about that too...for novices.

Ok, year is going to end, so let’s criticize Microsoft!! By the way, the last sentence was some kind of mathematical logic that is not being used! During the podcast that I had recorded with High on Coding, I talked about the advantage of ASP.NET WebForms
