Since tomorrow, 20th October 2008, second Telligent annual conference begins in Dallas, Texas, and lasts for three days. Last year it was called Community Server Developers Conference, lasted for two days, and was limited to approximately 80 attendees but this year it lasts for three days, and is already sold out to 200 attendees. Now it also has a better name and is called in.Telligent. Based on the experiences from the last conference, it looks like that Telligent has refined the quality and is going to hold a much better conference for all its attendees.

Recently Telligent has been rocking and ongoing great news have been coming out from the company, so I expect to hear exciting news coming out of the conference specifically because we haven’t had any update on product roadmaps and future plans in the past few months.

In comparison with last year’s conference when they had only one stable product (Community Server), for 2008 Telligent has more products to showcase including Community Server, Graffiti CMS, Harvest Reporting Server and Community Server Evolution, and this is a good help for the conference to offer more content to attendees.

In the past few weeks Telligent hired some well-known developers and business men in order to extend its business strategies and development teams, and open its wings for a more enterprise business. After hiring a professional evangelism team, they hired some professional developers, and as the acme of their progress, they announced Intel Capital $20 million investment and followed that with hiring more employees and adding new positions.

Therefore, it seems that Telligent has a long time plan for its future, and in.Telligent 2008 is a place where they talk about it in good details.

There are three keynotes by Rob Howard and Sean McDonald (Director of Communities and Conversations at Dell) on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday targeting different areas, and there are also several sessions mostly done by Telligent developers and evangelists. Fortunately unlike the last year, Telligent has promised to publish full videos and presentations on the web, and this is an excellent way to spread the word. Most likely some Telligenti’s and attendees will tweet (alternative) and blog about the conference live.

Although for the second consecutive year I’m not able to meet my great friends at Telligent, I’m personally glad that this conference is going to begin. I’m pretty sure that Rob Howard, Jason Alexander, Scott Dockendorf, Tom Edwards, and their teams have done a great job for this conference waiting for attendees.
