Waegis Alpha 3
Things are going fast around Waegis. Fortunately I didn't experience any big problem in Alpha testing stage and this let me move on easily to the next stages.
After getting good results from the Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 builds, today I decided to launch the Alpha 3 privately for our Alpha testers. The Alpha 3 has some new features, enrichments and bug fixes and is supposed to be the last private build of the Waegis.
My anticipation was to have two or three private Alpha launches before launching a public Beta. Of course, first two Alphas satisfied me but I thought it's worthwhile to test some new features before launching the Beta.
One of the important points that I tried to improve in this Alpha 3 was fighting against trackback and pingback spams. Previous methods were effective (or at least more effective than existing services) but had a bigger fault ratio than other content types. So I decided to work around this and improve the quality as much as I can.
By the way, the progress of the Waegis is going well. Shaho is working on details of the site design and I'm in touch with Mehrdad to get started with the hosting. As soon as I can get my hands on these two main requirements, I'd be able to launch the Beta in a few days. I hope that I can do this before the end of June.
As you see, we finally chose a simple and effective logo for the Waegis. Not only it's designed based on the name but also it reflects the naming story very well.
As of Alpha results, I'd say that I'm very happy with what I got from this testing stage. The fault ratio is excellent and thank to some Alpha testers, I could find a good configuration to reduce this. I've been using Waegis on this blog for over 1.5 months and the good news is, it has worked amazingly at least for myself. I hope that it works same (or better) for all users as well.
However, for the last time I want to grow the Alpha testers group and here I invite everyone who's interested to test the site and service to join me. Just drop me a line and you'll be there quickly.
Hopefully I'll announce the final launch date very soon and will let everyone knows about it so stay tuned!
