Visual Studio Extensibility on Channel 9
As I said before 2008 is going to be the year of Visual Studio Extensibility (aka VSX) and most likely it will be a special year for VSX community.
There are many attempts to improve VSX in several ways by adding new features to Visual Studio 2008 and its SDK, building new communities, resources, samples and any other innovation that can help VSX.
Today after announcing Visual Studio Gallery as a great place to find Visual Studio extensions, Channel 9 team published two videos from Visual Studio Ecosystem team members.
As Aaron Marten has written on his blog, one of these two videos is about Visual Studio 2008 Extensibility and he and Ken Levy describe new extensibility features in VS 2008 in the video. This video covers some topics related to Visual Studio Shell development that would be sweet for everyone.
In the other video Anthony Cangialosi and Ken Levy talk about new Visual Studio Gallery site that was just launched earlier today.
As I remember these are the first videos about VSX on Channel 9. That is nice to see these videos on Channel 9 because it reminds us of the serious Microsoft programs for the future of VSX and I'm happy to see that VSX community is getting active while my book is coming out to help this progress a little.
+ Here I think I have to leave comment on something about Visual Studio Gallery. As you can remember I had written about Visual Studio Gallery four weeks ago and provided a link to the site. At that time some other bloggers had written about this site as well. Later I joined to an internal private group of active VSX gurus that are known as VSX Insiders and this private group is a great place to discuss about the current and future status of Visual Studio Extensibility.
Via this group and a comment that had been left for my blog post I found that this site was a private site and that was just a mistake to let many people know about it! You may know that this site is announced officially this morning and Soma has written about it in more details.
