Underground Theme for Graffiti
After 2-3 days of my big migration to Graffiti from Community Server which was the most important change in 2.5 years of my blog's life, now things have gotten back to normal form and I can follow regular blogging like the past.
All the old URLs are now permanently redirected to their newer equivalents. I wrote a simple Windows Application that could let me browse all my old URLs manually and check them easily and fix some broken links.
On the other hand, some problems with the site are now fixed even though there are still some issues related to first Beta version of Graffiti that I hope they can be fixed in Beta 2.
I also left default Graffiti templates. They were simple but weren't suitable for my site. Regarding the simplicity goals, I took another template from Styleshout named Underground and imported it to Graffiti. Previously I was using another template from this great site named Elite Circle that I had imported to Community Server 2007 myself.
The Graffiti template engine is named Chalk which is so sweet! The process of importing this template didn't take more than 2 hours and I simply could export all files (including views, images and stylesheet files) to a single XML file and import them to the production server!
I think this template is simple, beautiful and of course, suitable for my site. However, it needs some improvements to be better but I like it so far.
I'll make this theme available for download after some tweaks and will update this post with download link so keep an eye on this post in next 2-3 days for the download link.
In my opinion a big competitor for WordPress is on the way and after a long while I can see something from .NET community that can solve those problems with all the .NET blogging tools that are ever made. Thank you, Telligent!
