Results of First Waegis Survey
Last week I wrote about my strategies for the management of Waegis and its future and pointed that user opinions play an important role in my decisions.
I also stated that a good way to accomplish this goal is via user surveys and started with the first Waegis survey that was targeting three areas: general opinions about anti-spam mechanisms, statistical research about sites and commercial model and pricing of the Waegis.
Yesterday I published the results of this survey on Waegis blog that contains some interesting facts about user opinions that can help me with my future decisions.
You can find full details about the results of this survey on Waegis blog but here I can draw a conclusion of user opinions shortly.
Users would like to use a good online spam filter service and they already know all the drawbacks of CAPTCHA controls. I think that the main reason for using CAPTCHA controls is their ease of use for webmasters and site owners. Many of the users who have taken the survey have a blog or forum and I could predict that these are the most challenged content provider systems by spammers.
Many of these users receive less than 1000 items and less than 1000 spams on their sites in a month. The most common number of site instances was 11 and this is an evidence to say that at the moment our users have smaller sites.
For the accounting system and pricing, clients may want to use commercial services but this depends on our pricing. They like cheaper prices with regular limitations and would prefer a pricing that covers this.
However, I think that this conclusion speaks on its own and I don’t need to explain it anymore. I will consider these results in my pricing plan for Waegis that I will announce in the next a few days.
Waegis is going to move to the final stage in next couple of weeks so I’d like to invite you to take a moment and let me know about your feedback to make it better for this final version.
+ As a side note let me know point that Waegis blog software is an integrated part of Waegis solution and is written entirely by myself. A few buddies were wondering if this blog is powered by Graffiti but this is not correct. Waegis blog engine is a simple engine for my own needs and I think it’s good as is!
