Now Leaving Community Server and Migrating to Graffiti
BlogML wasn't the only site that I moved to Graffiti! I even moved my dear Nayyeri.NET to this new CMS hardly!
It's been over 2.5 years that I was using Community Server from first Betas to the latest 2007.1 version on this site and had many changes on it. Community Server has become much better and powerful than the first days and I loved it very much. This is something obvious for my regular readers and buddies. However, after the first release of Graffiti I decided to give it a try and liked its simplicity.
I've been looking for a total refreshment on this blog recently and this was a good reason to do the migration for some reasons that I outline:
- My limited time didn't let me manage my Community Server as well as the past. The complexity of administration was one of reasons. Graffiti is simple to manage.
- Things were going to go out of my realm. The growing number of tags, posts and comments didn't let me to keep a consistency between my posts.
- My database was getting larger and some dirty data were included in it.
- This migration can encourage me and give me more energy for better blogging.
- I love Telligent and its products so this migration lets me support Graffiti. I'm a blogger with tons of posts and this showed its effect when I tried to migrate my posts. I'll talk about it very soon. I'm sure this migration can help Telligent developers to find more holes in the application as I found them.
All in all, after 2.5 years my blog is now migrated to the new product of Telligent, Graffiti, and has become much simpler! I shaved its head and took of its clothes to be very very simple! I also chose a new description for my blog in inspiration of Scott Watermasysk: "Simplified"!
Things won't be as simple as this and I'll add some new widgets, advertisements and most likely a fresh new theme to this blog.
All tags are removed and there is only one category for my new blog and it has a simple name as "blog"! In my opinion tags are going to die for me forever! I don't want to use categories nor tags after this. You can search for all the posts that you're looking for!
Even though I migrated all my old posts and feedbacks but there are still some problems on the site that I'll fix in next couple of days!
I migrated my blog from Community Server but this doesn't mean that I've missed my love to this great product. You'll hear more interesting news about me and Community Server in the near future.
For now I'm going to send a detailed post about my migration process.

Hey Keyvan,
Good stuff isn't it?
If you haven't, grab the redirector from Rich Mercer's site - it'll redirect anyone following an old link/trackback back to the correct Graffiti page by interpretting the old CS link.
Have fun with it, I am :)
