Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Certification Exams

Following links in a blog that had requested to receive a copy of my book for review, I found another post about Windows Workflow Foundation 3.5 certification exams that had introduced some guys that were contributing to a program with me.

Microsoft has added three new exams for .NET Framework 3.5 on Microsoft Learning site for Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation and Windows Workflow Foundation 3.5 and they will be available in February and March 2008.

Overall this is the regular program from Microsoft to add certifications for newer technologies after their birth but this is the first time that Microsoft has designed certification exams for WPF, WCF and WF that were introduced in .NET Framework 3.0 and now are enhanced in .NET Framework 3.5.

But in addition to this new stuff, it's also interesting to hear about Windows Workflow Foundation 3.5 exam (70-504) because I've been a member of the team that have participated in its design. A few months ago Microsoft Learning contacted me regarding this and I joined to the guys that you see in the post and a few other members and contributed to the design of the Windows Workflow Foundation exam by writing, editing and improving my own items and leaving feedbacks for others.

By the way, this was a very good and a special experience for myself because I saw how sensitive is Microsoft about the quality and relevancy of the exam questions and their ability to measure the real applied skills of developers rather than learning the theory.

I believed in the exams Microsoft is very serious about the real world scenarios and testing the capabilities of the developer. Most of the work that I did in this program was revising my items to apply these guidelines.

So my personal recommendation for everyone who's going to pass such exams is trying to follow a practical approach and checking as many examples as possible with different scenarios especially common real world scenarios.

Hello Keyvan,

Really looking forward to dig into this new technoligies! At the moment I am actually still in the process of upgrading from 2003 to 2005 (yup, had trouble finding the time), but am now thinking about skiping that and going straight for vs2008 and .net 3.5. Do you have idea what the full 3.5 exam route will look like and whether ms will provide upgrade exams from mscd to mcts/mcpd 3.5 directly. It seems to be that the exams you're mentioning here are far from the complete series.....

Regards,

Sandor
