Graffiti Extras 1.1 Released

Graffiti Extras You would already know that I've started an open source project around Telligent Graffiti CMS called Graffiti Extras and hosted on CodePlex under a New BSD license.

This project includes some plug-ins, extensions, widgets and themes for this powerful content management system.

So far we've had some major and minor releases for early Beta versions of Graffiti 1.0, its final version and its first service pack. Fortunately I was lucky to get the help and assistant from Thomas on this project and he improved it a lot.

A short while ago a new developer has joint to the team with some interesting ideas and added one of his ideas to the project. Brian Zalk was that guy who joined us to make better stuff for Graffiti CMS and its users.

Brian has been an active Graffiti developer and already has a nice blog that covers Graffiti tips and tricks. It's good to see that new developers join to open source projects and help the progress. Brian helped us to activate the project and have a new release which can help it a lot.

One of the ideas that he just added to the project is a theme explorer plug-in/extension that lets you dynamically change the theme for a visitor with a cookie. This helps you to let your users choose from all available themes on your site and view it with their favorite theme. An example for those who have been following Scott Hanselman's blog is his previous DasBlog theme (navigate to the bottom) that let you choose from different options.

Having this introduction and regarding the recent release of Blogging Extension by Scott and Kevin, we decided to drop a new release for our users which is the most stable version of Graffiti Extras and a rich one.

Today I uploaded the new binary and source code package to CodePlex workspace and updated the version number to 1.1 which is a suitable number for it. Version 1.1 includes the new Theme Explorer plug-in/extension as a major addition.

You can download version 1.1 from here.
