Contributing to Professional Visual Studio 2008 Book

When talking about the new cover for my Professional Visual Studio Extensibility book I pointed that I'm contributing to a new book that I'll write about it later.

If you can remember, back in November 2007 I wrote about joining to authors of Professional Visual Studio 2008 book on Professional Visual Studio blog. Since then I've been blogging on this site about Visual Studio especially its extensibility topics.

My collaborations with Nick and Dave went to another stage from the last month when they kindly offered me to collaborate with them on their book by contributing three chapters of the automation part.

It was a pleasure to work with Nick and Dave on one of the best-selling Wrox titles and of the best titles for Visual Studio. The other nice point about this book is same editorial team as my book are working on this title as well. A few days ago I finished writing manuscripts for my chapters and actually finished my short work on this book to some extent.

As I had written before Professional Visual Studio 2008 and my book, Professional Visual Studio Extensibility, complement each other and are best matches for any reader who wants to dive deeper into Visual Studio to become a professional user and developer of this great IDE.

A short while ago, Dave wrote about changes that he and Nick have made into the table of contents of Professional Visual Studio 2008 to cover more new topics introduced in .NET 3.0 and 3.5.

The Automation part that I've contributed to this book contains three chapters about the automation aspect of Visual Studio which is strongly correlated with Visual Studio Extensibility via the automation model, add-ins and macros. Three chapters of this book are covering these chapters in some general detail and I tried to give anything necessary to a regular reader of Professional Visual Studio title.

Currently this book is due for publish in July 2008 and I guess it will be a great book about Visual Studio and an excellent recommendation for everyone who wants to learn many things about Visual Studio and its usage, development, tips and tricks.

I wrote that I'm going to get off from writing for a while and spend more time on other interests because I found that writing is becoming a main part of my life.
